or technical restrictions, others are weather dependent. You are advised to check with the meet
organiser prior to attending as numbers are limited on some trips and meets may be subject to
last minute changes.

Heritage Open Day 2010 Magpie Mine, Sheldon |

Heritage Day 2010 is on Saturday the 11th of September and will be held at Magpie Mine, Sheldon. The mine
has a fantastic history stretching back to the 1600s. The mine will be open to visitors between 12.00 and 17.00. Surface tours
will take place every hour or as needs require. There will be refreshments on offer and a souvenir stall.

Daytime Event Barmote Event 2010 |

This years Barmote event will take place on Wednesday 20th October 2010 at the Mining Museum at Matlock Bath.
The event will begin at 11.00am prompt. There will be a series of talks and presentations which will announced in the next newsletter.
Food and drink will be provided. As usual the new members will receive their own invites, usual suspects will need to phone or call in at
the museum just to give an idea of numbers for food. There will be a chance for new members to take a tour of the mining museum
and Temple Mine as well.

Another opportunity to visit this popular Derbyshire mine which, if you have never visited it, is quite
extensive, easy to explore and totally different from a typical Derbyshire lead mine. Dry apart from puddles. Mostly walking size passages.
Access conditions limit party size to 15 (including leader).

| PDMHS AGM and Social Evening |

| Description: |
The Agenda will commence at 15.00 and will consist of two or three talks of approximately half an hour to forty minutes. There will be a break for tea/coffee/biscuits.
The AGM will take place at approximately 17.30 and last for approximately one hour. The "Miners' Buffet" will be served at 7 pm as follows:
Baskets of Mixed Rolls from local bakery
Carved to Order: Topside of Beef and Whole Roast Butter Basted Turkey
Stuffing, Pigs in Blankets, Cranberry Sauce
Decorated Poached Salmon Fillets
Homemade Cheddar Cheese and Onion Pie
Roast New Potatoes with Rosemary and Garlic
Bowls of Mixed Chunky Salad
Red Cabbage and Beetroot Salad
Cheese Board with Chutneys and Seasonal Fruits
Terrine of Pate, Crackers and Butter
Selection of traditional hearty puddings such as Fruit Crumbles, Bread and Butter Pudding, Strudels, served with Cream or Custard
Cost per head will be £17.50. Food will not be pre-ordered this year, but selected from the above buffet menu on the day.
We have a drinks licence for the event for the sale of the beer and wine.
To make your food reservation either send an e-mail to mail[at]peakmines.co.uk, telephone the Museum on 01629 583834, or write a letter. Payment in full must be received by the Museum before Saturday 13 November 2010. Cheques should be made out to Peak District Mines Historical Society.
You will be issued with a ticket for your meal on arrival at the Museum on the day.
